How to Use Scissors to Cut Shapes
with Michelle Lindenmayer

Creating your own coordinating embellishments is easy. There are some fantastic patterned papers on the market these days that are just begging to be cut up and used on your pages.

What You Need:
• Patterned paper with shapes or flower design
• A pair of sharp scissors
Step 1
Select a pair of scissors that have small, pointy blades so that you will be able to cut into the corners of your shapes.
Step 2
Take your patterned paper and select a shape that you would like to cut out of your paper.
Step 3
Cut roughly around the shape so that it is easier to handle. Be careful not to cut into any of the other shapes on the page that you might like to cut out later.
Step 4
Begin cutting the detail of your shape - hold your scissors in a stationary position and move the shape around to cut. This works particularly well when you have round or curvy shapes.
