| There are twelve function keys and they are located on the left and right-hand side of the Cricut keypad. The function keys are standard for each keypad. |

Paper Saver Key
The Paper Saver function key is handy for when you don't require the negative of a word or letter you want to cut as it pushes all the letters to the edge of the paper to save as much as possible when cutting. This is more obvious when using lowercase fonts. |
Real Dial Size Key
The Real Dial Size function key will cut out each letter to the size you have set (ie 3.5 inches), instead of in proportion to each other. Again, this is more obvious when using lowercase fonts, where a small letter like 'a' will appear the same size as a large letter like 'y'. |

Space Key
The Space key is used when you need to put a space between your words and letters and especially useful when you need to use the negative of the cut out shape. (For example, if I wanted to cut out and use the negative shape of 'I love you', I would need to put a space between each word. If I was only going to use the letters, I would not put a space in between the words to save as much room and paper as possible. |

Backspace Key
The Backspace key is handy when you need to go back and correct a mistake, just like you would use it on a keyboard. |
Clear Display Key If you have changed your mind on what you want to write and you want to start over, you can use the Clear Display key to start again. |
Reset All Key If you have a few different feature buttons selected and you have changed your mind and want to start with nothing selected, you can use the Reset All key and that will clear your entire keypad as opposed to having to unselect all the keys you have pressed. |
Repeat Last Key
The Repeat Last key is handy if you need to quickly repeat the last word or the last sequence of letters or shapes you have just cut. |
Sound On/Off Key
The Sound On/Off Key is used to turn off the sound the keypad makes when the buttons are pressed, not the sound of the machine cutting! You may want to leave this on if you want to make sure you have pressed the button properly. |
Load Last Key
The Load Last key is used when you have a mat that you have used previously for cutting out shapes and you want to cut some more shapes out of the paper that is still on the mat. The Load Last key will automatically load your paper to the last point where you finished cutting. |
Set Paper Size Key
The Set Paper Size key is useful when you are using left-over scraps of paper that don't fill up the entire cutting mat. Once you have loaded your paper with the Load Paper key and positioned the green cutting blade to the top right-hand corner of the paper with the arrow keys, press the Set Paper Size key to let the Cricut know how big the paper is (it will tell you on the LCD screen) and that way it will know where to cut. For more instructions on this, see the video Cricut: How to Load Your Paper. |

Load Paper Key
The Load Paper key is used when you need to load the mat with your paper in the Cricut for cutting. You will only need to press this key once. |
Unload Paper Key
The Unload Paper key is used when the Cricut is finished cutting your letters and shapes and will eject the mat. Never pull the mat out of the machine. |
