How to Create an Interesting Page Border with Ribbon with Michelle Hartjes
A patterned paper strip looks great as a border on your page but to add an interesting feature and some dimension, you can tie some co-ordinating strips of ribbon around your strip of patterned paper.
What You Need: • Strip of patterned paper (whatever width you would like, but 2 - 3 inches wide is great) • Ribbons - 2 or 3 different types or patterns • Scissors • Double-sided tape
Step 1
Starting at one end of your strip, wrap a piece of ribbon around your strip and tie in a knot. Trim the edges of your ribbon by cutting on an angle so that it doesn’t fray.
Step 2
Repeat the method with another piece of ribbon. This time, try to tie your knot in a different position as your first piece. It will also look great if you can use a ribbon that has a different width.
Step 3
Repeat the method again for your third piece of ribbon. You can purchase packets of co-ordinating ribbons and would be great for this technique.
Step 4
To finish off, turn your patterned paper strip over and place a piece of double-sided tape on your ribbons to hold them in place.
