How to Cover Chipboard with Patterned Paper
with Michelle Hartjes

Chipboard has revolutionised the scrapbooking world and we are now blessed with an array of gorgeous alphabets in every font and size imaginable as well as shapes like flowers, hearts and even brackets. The great thing about chipboard is that you can customise it to suit your needs. One great way of doing this is to cover your chipboard with patterned paper. This is one way of making sure that your page is totally coordinated.

What You Need:
• Chipboard letter or shape
• Patterned paper
• 'Herma Dotto' adhesive
• Craft knife
• Self-healing mat or glass cutting mat
Step 1
Firstly, choose a piece of chipboard that you would like to use. Today I am using an alphabet letter.
Step 2
Now select your patterned paper and turn it over so that the pattern that you would like to use is face down.
Step 3
Take your piece of chipboard and apply some adhesive onto the top or right side of your chipboard. I have used Herma Dotto adhesive so that I do not have to wait for it to dry. Now, take your chipboard and stick it down onto your patterned paper. If it is a letter, it should appear back-to-front.
Step 4
You can now take your chipboard and patterned paper and place it onto your cutting mat with the chipboard facing up. I am using a glass cutting mat as it helps the craft knife to cut more smoothly. Take your craft knife and carefully cut around your chipboard, staying as close to the chipboard as possible.
Step 5
When you have cut all the way around your chipboard, you can turn it over to see the finished product. Now you have a chipboard letter customised in a patterned paper that will match your layout.
