How to Create Your Own Masks with Stickers
with Michelle Lindenmayer

Masking is where you cover an item or portion of it to prevent it from being painted, chalked or inked as other sections are coloured.

As scrapbookers, we tend to accumulate pages of alphabet stickers with left-over letters that we will probably never use. Masking is a great way to use up some of your supplies while creating a unique title or background for your page.
What You Need:
• Cardstock
• Alphabet stickers in a few different sizes and fonts
• Acrylic Paint
• Foam brush
• Paint tray
Step 1
First of all you will need to take your piece of cardstock and place it on your flat surface.
Step 2
Next you will need to take some random sized alphabet stickers and stick them down onto your cardstock. This can be done in a pattern or randomly.
Step 3
You will then need to squirt some paint onto your tray and dab your foam brush into the paint. Take your foam brush and use large strokes to paint over the top of your alphabet stickers. You can go right to the edge of your cardstock or leave a gap if you prefer.  Reapply more paint if necessary to give a good coverage.
Step 4
You will then need to put this aside to dry for around five minutes.  This is so that the paint does not smudge and you will be left with a neat impression.
Step 5
This is an example that I have prepared earlier. When your paint is dry, you can carefully peel your alphabet stickers off your cardstock and discard.
Step 6
You will be left with a lovely pattern on your cardstock.
